The malt and grain whiskies which make up the blend are initially aged in charred bourbon casks. These individual whiskies are then combined to form the blend, before being then returned to the cask for a second time – this time in Oloroso sherry casks, so as to mature them further. Oloroso, from the Spanish word meaning "scented", has a perfect aroma and flavour, which ideally compliments Lauder’s Blended Scotch Whisky.
