Generalities about pre-order

Online cross-border shopping is the purchase of duty-free goods on the internet. You order your goods online and specify the day you will pick them up on the other side of the border. On the day you arrive at the cross-border shop, your goods will be ready for you.

The big difference between online cross-border shopping and regular online shopping is that you don't pay for your goods when you order them, but only when you pick them up at the physical store on the other side of the border. This is because of customs regulations, which require you to pay outside Denmark.

A pre-order is an advance order for goods that we pack for you and have ready when you come to pick them up. Your pre-order will be delivered straight to your car boot.

You place your pre-order here at bordershop.com and pick it up at BorderShop Puttgarden or BorderShop Rostock.

No, unfortunately not all items can be pre-ordered.

Our range of sweets/confectionery and household items is currently limited in the webshop, but you can see our large selection in the store.

Yes, to place a pre-order, we require a minimum purchase value of 200 DKK / 276 SEK.

Pick-up

You can pick up a pre-order for a friend, but if this pre-order contains non-deposit items, it is important that your name is on the export declaration.

We can only hand over non-deposit items if the name on the export declaration and the passport/driver's license/health insurance card presented match.

You can choose whether you want to pick up your pre-order at BorderShop Puttgarden or BorderShop Rostock. 

You can pick up your items no earlier than 3 hours after you have ordered them online. You can choose a pickup date up to 21 days in advance.

During exceptionally busy periods, it may take longer than 3 hours to pack your items.

Your pre-order will be packed so that it is ready for collection at the time you have selected.

You can collect your pre-order later on the same day, but you must collect your items on the day you have selected.

If you do not collect your items on the selected day, they will be returned and your pre-order will be canceled.

This is because you must prove that you are a resident of a Scandinavian country, which is necessary in order to purchase beer, soft drinks, and cider without paying a deposit.

Timing

Yes, you can place an order for pickup up to 21 days in advance.

You can pick up your order no earlier than 3 hours after placing your order. It is only possible to pick up your pre-order during BorderShop's opening hours.

We will hold your pre-order for the entire day, so you can pick it up later on the same day.

If you do not pick up your items on the selected day, they will be returned and your pre-order will be canceled.
