General FAQ

Orders placed before 1 June – with collection by 7 June – will still be processed by Scandlines Bordershop Puttgarden GmbH or Scandlines Bordershop Rostock GmbH and can be collected as normal during the usual opening hours in Puttgarden and Rostock.  
 
Orders placed from 1 June onwards can again be placed up to 21 days before collection and will be processed by Heinemann TRFB GmbH.

EU and EEA citizens must carry a passport or another form of identity document accepted by the German authorities when entering and staying in Germany, in accordance with the German Freedom of Movement Act (Freizügigkeitsgesetz).

In the shopping carts, you can use 1 EUR, 10 DKK, or a cart token, which can be purchased at the information kiosk on board the ferry or in the BorderShop.

No, you are not allowed to do that. German law applies, and according to this law, you are not allowed to drive with studded tires to BorderShop.

No, unfortunately, according to German law, this is not permitted for food safety reasons.

As a rule, wine does not have an expiration date unless it is printed on the label.

However, we recommend that you drink your Bag in Box within 12 months of the production date for the best experience, but it may still be fine after that.

We reserve the right to correct any printing errors, pricing errors or items that are out of stock. 

We have chosen to make it easy for you as a customer. The prices you see on bordershop.com on the day you place your pre-order are the prices you will pay when you pick up your order.

The minimum order is DKK 200, and there is a packaging fee of DKK 20. (Payments can only be made in DKK and euros.)

Deposit FAQ

No, you don't pay German or Danish deposit at BorderShop.

But remember that you must fill out an export declaration when purchasing beer, cider, or soda in cans.

You can return cans and bottles without a deposit to a bottle machine. Alternatively, you can sort them as metal or glass waste for recycling.

You can purchase duty-free goods on board Scandlines ferries after the following departure/arrival times:

Rødby-Puttgarden: After 13 minutes of sailing from Rødby and until 18 minutes before arrival in Rødby.

Gedser-Rostock: After 32 minutes of sailing from Gedser and until 38 minutes before arrival in Gedser.

The purchase of beer and canned water is only permitted for customers residing in a Scandinavian country.
